Makkah: To manage the large influx of pilgrims and ensure a smooth experience during Ramadan, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that individuals will be allowed to perform only one Umrah during the final 10 days of Ramadan.
This measure aims to reduce overcrowding at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, which sees a significant surge in visitors during this period.
The ministry has stressed the importance of adhering to this guideline to ensure fair access for all pilgrims. Pilgrims are encouraged to obtain their permits in advance and arrive on time to avoid disruptions.
Additionally, they are advised to pray in mosques around Makkah instead of gathering in large numbers at the Haram, easing pressure on the holy site.
To enhance the pilgrimage experience, authorities have implemented extensive preparations at the Two Holy Mosques, including: Improved crowd management and accessibility, Increased services such as Zamzam water distribution and logistical support and Advanced cooling systems and strict cleaning protocols to maintain hygiene
This initiative is part of broader efforts by Saudi authorities to ensure safety, order, and a seamless pilgrimage experience during peak periods. Pilgrims are also encouraged to use public transportation and avoid congesting stairwells and hallways to allow for smoother movement within the mosque.
